日本已於10月5日通過BNT的BA.5變異株次世代疫苗的緊急使用授權（EUA），已於10月中旬開打。指揮中心發言人莊人祥今（23）日表示，國內將於23日、29日開始進行包括莫德納、BNT的BA.5次世代疫苗緊急使用授權審查，若審查通過，也將儘速安排衛生福利部傳染病防治諮詢會預防接種組(ACIP)會議，儘速為疫苗的進口、施打細節進行安排。

日本已完成BNT的BA.5變異株次世代疫苗的緊急使用授權，本月中開打；指揮中心指揮官王必勝日前透露，國內包括莫德納、輝瑞BNT的BA.5次世代疫苗等相關技術性資料近日都已補齊，食藥署也將展開EUA緊急使用授權會議審查。

次世代疫苗陸續有新進度，國產高端疫苗目前仍須向食藥署提供「疫苗保護效益」報告補件；莊人祥表示，目前高端已向食藥署表示，確定能於10月31日補件截止時間前，繳交補件資料。
